Naina Devi Temple
Naina Devi temple is a famous Hindu siddhpith. Dedicated to Goddess Naina, It is believed that Naina Devi Temple was built in the 15th Century. the temple is located on the northern shore of Naini Lake. Every year thousands of pilgrims come here to take blessings of Goddess Naina. The temple is just 1 km from Naini lake. Inside the temple, there is a huge peepal tree and in the near of tree, there is a statue of Lord Hanuman.
Inside the temple are the idols of, Maa Naina Devi, Maa Kali, and Lord Ganesha. The idol of Naina Devi two Netras (eyes).Naina Devi Temple holds a special place in 64 Siddha Peethas of Hindu religion.
According to legend, when King Daksha does not call his son-in-law Shiva and daughter, in the havan, ma sati cannot tolerate insulting. Then Maa Sati jumped into the havan Kund and gives his life. then Lord Shiva takes the body of Ma sati on his shoulder, and go further in the sky. When Lord Shiva was carrying the body of Maa Sati in the sky, then where the body parts of Maa Sati falls, it will become a Siddha Peethas later.
The terrible landslide took place in Nainital in 1880, which destroyed the temple of Naina Devi Then later in 1883, the permanent people constructed the temple. At the time of Nanda Ashtami, a big fair is organized in the temple which runs lasted for 8 days. Naina devi Temple is a major tourist attraction in Nainital.

Nainital Zoo Is very famous among tourist. The official name the zoo is Pt. G.B. Pant High Altitude Zoo and is situated at a height of 2,100 meters above sea-level. The zoo also Known as Sher Ka Danda, zoo covers a total area of 4.693 Hectares. The Zoo is Manage by The Bharat Ratna Pandit Govind Ballabh Pant High Altitude Zoo Management Society. The zoo was established in 1984 and opened for visitors on 1 June 1995. The Zoo is a home to some rare species.
