Uttarakhand also known as the ‘Dev Bhumi’ it’s mean ‘Land of God’. Uttarakhand became the 27th state of India on 9th November 2000. Uttarakhand is a very beautiful and quiet tourism center. This place is one of the few places in the country that attracts tourists around the world due to its beauty. The original name of this state was Uttaranchal which was changed to Uttarakhand in January 2007.

Uttarakhand is known as the most sacred area of devotion and pilgrimage. There are 13 districts in the state which are divided on the basis of major divisions, Kumaon Garhwal, Tehri Garhwal and Pauri Garhwal.

How to Reach Uttarakhand

By Air- Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun, Pantnagar Airport in Pantnagar Kumaon region, Naini Saini Airport in Pithoragarh are domestic airports in Uttarakhand till now. Jolly Grant Airport is the only airport which gets regular flights from major cities of India on a daily basis. Pantnagar and Naini Saini Airport get the limited flights.
